The Executive Committee for the Council on Academic Freedom at Harvard University strives to represent the viewpoints of our broad and diverse community, especially our members. While CAFH members and CAFH Co-Presidents may express their individual opinions on various issues related to academic freedom outside of Harvard, the Executive Committee withholds comment. Official statements made by the Council and issued by the Executive Committee are restricted to issues involving Harvard University. The council recognizes that many threats against, and protections for, academic freedom come from outside of our community. We are proud to stand with councils and organizations that advocate for the protection of academic freedom beyond our campus, including, but not limited to:
- The Heterodox Academy
- Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression (FIRE)
- Academic Freedom Alliance (AFA)
- PEN America
- Berkeley Initiative for Free Inquiry
- Columbia Academic Freedom Council
- Council on Academic Freedom at University of Toronto
- Duke Faculty for Institutional Neutrality and Free Speech
- Faculty for Yale
- London Universities’ Council for Academic Freedom
- MIT Council on Academic Freedom
- Princeton Council on Academic Freedom
- The University of Chicago Forum for Free Inquiry and Expression
